Privacy Policy
Beefy · last updated: May 16, 2026.
1. What we collect
All journal entries, mood notes, and goal settings are stored locally on your device using the standard UserDefaults mechanism. These data never leave the device automatically.
2. What is sent to the server
Only requests you start explicitly by tapping the sparkle button next to an input field are sent to our server:
- The text you want to refine.
- A short purpose label (entry title / entry body).
- Technical headers: the app version and an anonymous connection token.
These requests are forwarded to our backend and then to a language-model provider (OpenRouter / DeepSeek / Anthropic / Google) to generate the response. No account identifier or Apple ID is sent — the app has no such accounts.
3. What we do NOT collect
- Name, email, phone number.
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA), location, contacts.
- Behavioral analytics or crash reports from third-party SDKs.
- Browser history, files, photos, or any media.
4. About UserDefaults
Per Apple's PrivacyInfo requirement (May 2024+), we declare use of UserDefaults with reason CA92.1 — "storing the app's own data." See PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy inside the app bundle.
5. Who receives your data
Nobody, except the LLM provider that handles your specific refine request. The backend does not keep long-term logs of request bodies; standard nginx access logs (IP, time, status code) are retained for up to 14 days.
6. Your rights
- Delete all entries with one tap in Settings → Data → Delete all entries.
- Export entries to JSON from the same section.
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
7. Children
The age rating is 4+. The app collects no personal data from children and contains no targeted advertising.
8. Changes
Any change to this policy will appear on this page; the date at the top will be updated.
